    Electrical resurrection

Seems like a dumb question, but.. Should the generator give off charging voltage for lighting? I've been rebuilding the wiring on my S65. http://www.cmsnl.com/classic-honda-fansite/honda_wiring_diagrams/S65(Clymer).jpg I have it running, with no battery. And I was voltage checking different...

    Carb adjustment screws

So the springs are basically for holding the screws in place? If the springs are switched how will it affect the bike?

    Carb adjustment screws

With my Keihin carb, it has idle and mixture adjustment screws. Do both adjusment screws need the little springs installed? I took apart and cleaned the carb and now I can't remember how it was.

    Gas tank vent system?

Someone told me it is just a vent, if the bowl overflows. Is this true?

    Gas tank vent system?

I have a sort of related question, so I'll keep it in this thread. The line with the yellow dots, should be connected to engine vacuum? When I was using the aforementioned plastic bottle, I never had that bottom line hooked up. And I never had problems with the bike running, strange...

    Gas tank vent system?

How does the factory system vent fuel vapor? I used a plastic bottle for a short while on my S65, and it ran great. I ran through several bottles without error. Then I switched to a XL70 tank and used a metal gas cap for a car.(not the factory cap) The bike will start great and idle fine. Then...

Another question! dual fuel lines on ct70's

Is the carb supposed to have two fuel lines running to it? Or is one just for the drain?

    Another ignition spark question

Thanks, I think my plug should be changed soon. My problem was a pinched main coil wire. I probably smashed it when I put the flywheel back on. It runs good now!

    Another ignition spark question

Wooh! I got spark, and got it fired up with just a little twist of the throttle. BUT. After riding it for about an hour, it just died. Wouldn't start back up, no spark again. I need to check the condensor solder point, any other tips?

S65/S90 engine question. Same engine as CT series?

I was pretty sure all the Honda 50/70cc blocks were the same. So I would think any 90, 100, 110 Honda engine/clone would work. Off topic:Do you know where I could get a S65 gas tank? Or even a S90 tank? I think they are pretty close in size.

    obtaining a title/registering

Great info. I heard something about an MSO? What is that? I know people use it to get chinese bikes registered.

    obtaining a title/registering

I was wondering if anyone has registered their vintage bike for street use? I have no title for my '65 Honda S65. I'm in Texas too, if anyone has done this in Texas.

Hpow to bench test Coil resistance

http://planetminitrails.com/CT70/docs/customminitrailmanual.pdf Refer to page 50(according to acrobat reader, not page 50 of the manual) I am asking because figure 104 looks like a test for the stator coil. I am chasing a no spark issue, and the stator was the only component that I didn't know...

Hpow to bench test Coil resistance

Thanks Miniac! I think that Honda had their manuals translated from Japanese to British English. Which is why we are all a little confused. So the STATOR coil(A.C. Generator), measured from the coil winding to the end of the black wire exiting the stator assembly should be 2.1-2.3 ohms...

    Honda S65 fuel tank?

Look up about two posts previous to this one. He said he used a XL70 rear wheel with a CT70 front. Do you have any pictures of your S65?

Hpow to bench test Coil resistance

The shop manual states resistance should be 9-11ohms from the spark plug wire to ground. Is that a typo? I thought 10k(10,000)ohms was acceptable.
