Did the 1984 models come in black and with a manual clutch?

I just got a line on what seems like a great price and the owner says it has 800 orginal miles on it.

The decals are different from anything else I've seen. From the photo one seems to be a large "S"

Pic attached.

Thats a clone bike...Black was only used on the 78 models...Manual clutch was only on 70-71 HKO's and 72 HK1's. There are a lot of tell tale visual signs on clones vs authentic Honda's..Check out the photo gallery for comparisons.

I'm guessing that "S" stands for "skyteam". The name of a company that makes aftermarket parts for ct 70's , and also they make clone bikes.

Turns out its a 2005 trail 107. Not sure of the make, but probably SkyTeam. Would this still be a good minibike for a kid, or would I have a lot of problems with it? Are these faster then the CT70? He is asking $600.

May pick up a really nice condition 1971 CL175 instead :)

The problem with the clones is getting parts...read some of the horror stories in the Chinese/Clone section. That is what scares me about them. Here, people sell them very cheap because a simple part broke and they can't find a replacement. The clone companies mix and match parts from a lot of different manufacturers and those manufacturers change names a lot so you never know what you really have.

Read a_smereck's story....Brand new motor too.

They are faster than a stock CT70 when they are running right.

I know i'm 6 months late, but lots of things have changed with the clones. For instance, Trail Buddy, Honda CT70, Trail 70 bikes & CT70 parts has awesome quality ct70 clones. They're fast, too. the website also has plenty of parts and DrATV OPERATES HERE can handle anything you need, too. I have a 2008 trailbuddy with a 110cc lifan engine with 3,116 miles on it and it's still running just fine. I haven't had to replace anything major, just random bolts and a headlight.
