Dont know where to start

Alright, I got a hold of two rolling frames and an unmatching motor. One bike is a K3, the other a '79 R, and the motor is a '78 49cc. I'm thinking that I should put the motor on the K3, and do up the R at a later time. My main goal is to build at least one of these bikes so that I can cruise around at about 45mph, but hit 55mph if I need it. I mostly plan on goin 30-45mph, but once in a while hit 55mph.
So really what I'm asking is:
-What do you recommend be done for the motor
-How am I going to get a speedo on here (and have it accurate)

I have been looking around and searching for most of this but cant really find specifics.

you can forget about getting the 49cc to hit your target speeds.it will cost alot of money to build a honda 70cc motor also, unless you can build it yourself.a 88cc kit with a stroker crank,hi volume oil pump, new HD clutch HD valve springs, hot cam, bigger carb and a good exhaust.it would be the most reliable and give you the best resale value.if you want to hit highway speeds occasionally, you might want to buy a 350 dollar 140cc chinese motor and a 12 wire harness and a good exhaust.

I would throw the 49cc in the 79r and wait to get a bigger motor for the k3. either way for the speed you want you are going to need another motor or alot of money invested into the one you have.

Yeah I've been thinkin about it and I think I'm just gonna do some minor things to the 50cc, make it street legal, and register it as a moped. Figure do that and then build another motor for what I really want.
JPct70, just curious as to y u would go with putting this motor in the 79 and wait on the AK3?

Here's you a motor for the K3 . Might need some mods to get it to fit. :4:

Seriously , check-out the engine Fatcaat has for sale . Sounds like it would
be perfect for your needs . It's a great price too.

just my personal opinion, either way just put the 49cc in your least favorite of the two and buy a quick motor for the other one. fatcaat has some nice motors... i dont think you could build one in parts for the price. i think he wants $400 for a 88cc motor....
I looked into building one from my motor and it would easily cost $500+.

I'd love to get his motor but I dont have that much to drop right now. I'm tryin to give myself a little side project. Something I just realized, I didnt tell everyone that this engine has nothing for the motor; stator assembly (if thats the right term), wire harness, coil, battery(if it even came with one). Pretty much y I was so undecided. Figured I already have a motor, do somethin with it first (even just running).
