Just fired it up second kick after the engine sat for a few years - I still need to hide the harness and cut the exhaust mount bracket off and repaint the tank next year, as I really messed it up, lol - I used a metallic spray paint on a primered which was'nt working so I then sanded some off and did another color to make it look beat up - I got all parts off e-bay or new from sites - The frame is a 1969 powdercoated candy blue - Wheels, hubs, forks are 1969 - The rest is reproduction - I used my old engine from my Trail 70 - Its a Lifan 70cc - I used a multi-position manifold adapter to be able to use the same carb and intake - I can't really use first gear unless careful cause damn even just a 70cc is crazy - I don't see how some of you guys have 110's - 125's and even supercharged or turbo's in a Z50 - I only have a rear brake till I order a front - So I can't go too fast 1969Z50.jpg

Very cool. My current project im working on is also a 69 z50a k1.

yeah i couldn't imagine anything more then a 88 in a hardtail chassis. there just isnt enough bike there for too much of a motor.

very nice

I've got a 69 as well...sitting in my basement waiting for a full resto......not starting the tear down until November

the bike is blue...but I'm gonna do her up in black...with lots of polished and chrome....I want it to look factory correct....but totally custom at the same time

my plan for the tank is to emulate the 2-tone blue/silver like the factory....but replace the blue with black....and instead of silver...I'm gonna get my airbrush guys to use chrome silver paint

it's gonna be a fun project
