Update to an old thread. I recently decided to re-chrome a set of K4-78 bars. I looked at several postings and sent an e-mail to 3 companies that I could find a reference to on this site...if they were still in business. I got a fast response from "The Chrome Shop" in Rock Island, IL, very professional, fast turn around, and reasonable $$ in my opinion, so I decided to give them a try. http://www.thechromeshop.com/ Turn around was quoted at 3-4 weeks and $60/bar based on the pics I sent. I did no prep, but they were in pretty good shape. Some light rust at the first bend and no serious metal work was required. They were true to their word. Paid $60/bar + shipping and it took just shy of 4 weeks in their hands. A day after I shipped, I received an estimate from CMP (Courtesy Metal Polishing). They were $50/bar and 4-6 weeks turn around. I may give them a try next time around. http://www.courtesymetalpolishing.com/ I am by no means an expert when it comes to chrome plating, so I'm attaching a few pics. I really don't have a lot to compare against, but they look good to me. As always, opinions are welcome.
