I just bought my second CT 70,the first when I was a kid and that one long gone. I've known about this one,a 1972 CT70H,for years. The guy I got it from has had it since 1979 purchased from the second owner. For years the second owner had always thought it was a 1973,I was a little disappointed to find out it is in fact a 72. I had plans during the restoration for Riveira Blue, anything but Yellow Metalic. This bike is going to get a nut and bolt restoration when the time comes, the only deviation from stock will be the color. I'm currently building a 1981 DOHC 750 but can't stop messing with this 70. I e had this thing for about a month and have already got about 80% of all of the fasteners, all OEM Honda and a few other NOS parts. The confusion on the date is the PINK SLIP states the bike is a 1973 model year and DATE FIRST SOLD as 1975,does anybody know why that could be? The build date on the VIN is 10/71. The first thing I did after buying it was a tear down for a serious clean, got the thing back together and need to get some pictures.

Assuming you have already checked the numbers matching the vin on the bike to the pink slip it sounds like a bit of a dogs breakfast .As for the date first sold ,it could be the bike sat at the dealership for a few years ,or more likely the bike was bought and never registered by the first owner ,then sold in 1975 to the second owner who did register it with the original bill of sale .
