I would try the bulbs. Nothing to lose. You can't worry about blowing the cheap HL bulb. It's a two pack. :LOL: It should last a while for testing purposes. The taillight is DC, so that will last a long time. Let's wait till you try them. You could move the HL to switched DC. You may have to install a different stator to solve this problem. Right now, you want to ride it, monitor volts while doing so. I have noticed after the Lifan has been ridden voltage changes. Doing a quick test in the driveway isn't good for real world test. This gives you an idea of what's going on. I ran the 4 prong full wave rectifier that still works with the 190cc.

Guys,
I got back home from vacation and was rewarded with some paperwork that I had been waiting for. My registration and plate arrived from Vermont I will figure out tomorrow what I need to do next to get my title and Louisiana plate. I could not wait to put the plate on the bike and take it for a good ride on the highway by my house. On my first legal cruise I learned that my speedometer is off a good bit and I will have to do some research to find out how to fix that. (40 mph on my phone shows like 32 on the speedo) I also learned that the perfect cruising speed is about 43 mph with the current gearing and setup. From cruising speed 42-43 to about 50 mph only takes a twist of the throttle Pretty happy with all of that may try to go down just a couple teeth on the rear sprocket.

I also received my LED Headlight bulb and I decided to install it and do some more testing. First thing I noticed was It pulses a little bit at a idle, but goes away with just a little bit of throttle. After the Super Bowl is over I am gonna go for another ride to check out the brightness of the headlight. I did some more testing with my my voltmeter with just the new LED Headlight bulb.

Idle without light on 12.4-12.6
High Idle without light on 13.2-13.7

Idle with Headlight & Rear Running Light on 12.2-12.3
High Idle with Headlight & Rear Running Light on 12.8-13.5

Idle with Headlight on and Brake Light on 11.1-11.3
High Idle with Headlight on and Brake Light on 11.7-12.1

This leads me to believe that the charging system will be more then adequate if all the bulbs were switched out to LED. There was a noticable difference with just the headlight change. I will post more results when I change out the rest of the bulbs.
