[QUOTE="Coastal Redneck, post: 185459, member: 11287"] Well, that's just it, the new 650s are lighter than they used to be, which has me thinking about buying one... it might not be a bad compromise, since I intend to do some road cruising too in this scenic and mountainous area of southeastern Arizona. Also, there are numerous dirt roads to ride through all these nearby mountain ranges, a coworker has a 500-lb. adventure bike and he has done several different routes across local ranges, just cruisin' in the dirt and enjoying the scenic views at every turn. Imagine doing those same dirt roads & trails with a lighter and more modern 650... sounds like heaps of fun to me, and I wouldn't have to worry about riding at highway speeds with mondo vibration, heller racket, gettin' beat to death in transit, no industrial paint-shaker action on a 250, LOL. Damn, this beer after work tastes good, and the late afternoon sun looks BAD@$$ on the crags, domes & spires of the Stronghold... my pinner Canon cam doesn't really pick up the details of those rocks, maybe I should try tweaking the zoom and going the 'Creative Shots' route for better photos, lol.
