It's currently in process. Building it to enjoy more arose be town and to possibly go a little further. My dad bought this bike for me when I was a kid. It's been in our possession since new. Came from a small dealer in St. Louis and still has the dealer sticker on the tail light.

Anyway here's a few pics of the build. Feel free to ask any questions. I initially wanted to go all out a crazy with USD fronts and different wheels. Ultimately I decided I wanted a stockish styled bike. Stock trimmings like fenders, turns, wheels, headlight etc. I also wanted everything powdercoated and recently started coating my own stuff. I'm still in process and still have a few higher dollar parts left in the build which has slowed the build down a lot. On to the pics.

Nice build! Seems to be a lot of purists on this forum who won't like change but it's your build and looks great!

How have you found PC'ing your own parts? I was contemplating picking up a kit as well and trying some.

Those tires are Michelin boppers, a scooter tire. I've put the same ones on my bike as well in a 120/90/10 for a street machine they should be perfect to help absorb some of the harsher roads

It's called an opinion, and everyone is entitled to it.

Thanks tips! Opinions are like farts, just because you have one doesn't mean you have to let it out. I am well aware of what forums are all about and opinions will come from everywhere even when they aren't asked for.

And guess what, no one asked for that either. It's a two-way street.

Looks like your buddy in the green shirt has a bugger stuck on his finger. Looks good, and I like those tires.
It's something. That's for sure. Get a group of guys together and it seems as though someone will fly the bird in a photo opportunity haha.
12 inch wheels/tires?
10" stock wheels. Satin black hubs and Kingston grey rims. 130/90/10. These are very large for the bike. Pogo style front ends can't fit these. Up front.

Powdering is a lot easier than expected. I'll never ever wet paint something small again. Just silly in all honesty. I've gone through 2 guns. The Harbor Freight was a good learner but the Eastwood appears to do great as a hobby gun. By far not a pro setup and there are some limitations but I'd say it's worth it's weight in gold for the finishes I've achieved considering my lack of experience other than what I've read on various forums.
Here's a part I did very little prep on. I planned to replace it due to it being a little crooked.

What is that on the front of the carb? LED light bar?

That's a oil cooler.
Yep, nailed it. It's the Piranha oil cooler. Build quality I'd say 8/10.

Did you lengthen the stock swingarm? It seems longer than normal.

I did not. It's whatever was stock for 78. I don't think they changed the length throughout the years. Although I could be wrong. I've never looked into it.

It must be the white PC then, I don't see many white CT's. They say white paint makes a room look bigger. Same goes for swingarms I guess.

The only white I've ever seen were the lady Dax ones

I'm suppose to be working on wiring but instead I found me an old velocity stack laying around. Might try to retrofit this to actually work. It's pretty dandy looking if I can get a screen filter for it.

I've been frustrated searching for headlight ears that are free of damage. My solution is to build new ones. Here are the progress pics. 732b3b58f7a8fdc3aa2b799a9005b0c1.jpg4457ec16c59fb65841ed2f3f0b388a08.jpga60b72b1bebc20558ab53b7951ad3ccb.jpg
