I've always liked the CT70/Dax in white. This will be the first I've seen with white fenders, though. It'll be interesting to see the assembled bike.

I like white vehicles especially with black trim. And white is hot right now,I think it will look great

Haha thanks lads. Yeah I’ve always loved and owned white vehicles. Over the years I’ve owned two white snowmobiles, a white gsxr750, two white pickups, and currently have two white cars out front and a white/red/blue Africa twin.

stoked to see the rest of the parts complete and get the black parts back from powdercoating

As for the white fenders, this bike was one of the many inspirations I used to decide colors. I’m guilty of swapping decal choices based on another white bike I saw. I had originally chosen the 72 (I think) blue stripe decals but where my bike is an 80s model with the bmx bars and no Chrome I decided on the 78 flame decals. They are sat in my garage playing the waiting game.

Few more of the rest of the pieces prepped for semi gloss black. Adding a zinc rich primer to wheel hoops and seat pan as they are so prone to corrosion.

Yep I saw that bike, and it was the swaying decision honestly. I had purchased and had landed the 72 decals, but where my bike has the 80s flare I wanted to keep it a little more recent. I debated the 77 blue and yellow VERY hard but ultimately I liked how the orange and red would pop against the pearl white.

I went with the white fenders based on the z50 I saw above. I also realize stickers can be changed as easily as a heat gun and a few dollars. As I own a 2017 Africa twin I am debating getting the flame 70s decals done in a color scheme similar to my AT, and just sitting on them until I decide I want to change them out.

Slight update. Got these decals made up and a new vin decal (not worried about a plate vs decal and I still have the plate regardless)

colors to match my Africa twin

stoked to make this project a little more my own

Nice thing about white...it is literally a blank canvas. Pretty much any color will visually pop against a white background, as long as it's a saturated hue, as you're using. This build is definitely going to have a newer, more contemporary, visually cool (as in "chilly") look compared with original. Looking forward to seeing the completed bike.

The one caution I would offer...don't mess with the original VIN tag. Even if it's scarred, as long as it's clearly the original and shows the model year/D.O.M. it's best to reinstall it.
