CT70 K3 Kill Switch

Has anyone ever disassembled a kill switch on a K3 Trail 70? The switch I have needs new sheathing over the wires and I was curious if you remove the 2 screws on the bottom cover on the switch, if that just exposes the working parts or the plate holds everything in place? Since this switch is impossible to find,,I don't want to ruin it by not knowing what's behind the backing plate.

Thanks in advance

That plate DOES keep everything in place. But you CAN remove it...everything will stay if your just a little bit careful. Once the plate is off you can see how everything COULD come apart...if your NOT careful. Soo...yes, you will be able to replace your sheathing.

thanks for response. When it comes to luck for me on stuff like this, usually not good. Ordered a couple different sizes sheathing from DR.Atv
so I might remove old sheathing and slide new up and try to adhere new to old.. Have to maybe cut some cards and see what I draw.

Thanks again

Honestly, everything inside stays in place pretty well. You won't have a problem. I would just pull the plate off...make a slit in the sheathing, or two, inside of the switch and get it pulled back far enough to put the plate back on...then remove the old sheathing completely and get the new piece on, up TO the switch...then pull the plate again and pull the sheathing up another inch, to get inside of the switch...then replace the cover, done.
Also...if it all went to hell...it isn't THAT difficult to reassemble the entire switch.

Last thing. The knobs pretty much hold things together too...nothing is gonna come flying out.
