I found this kit but there doesn't seem to be much information on it. Is there anyone out there who has used this kit or knows somebody that did? Any hint on the reliability/durability of this kit and whether it was a pain to install or not would be helpful. if not, then ill just try it out myself and make a write up of how it goes :4:

That tranny has now been on the market for a few years and has a decent rep. $149, shipping included, is going rate at this time and that appears to be a legit seller.

awsome sauce. I just purchase the kit, cant wait to see how this turns out:16: do i need any special tooling to get the job done? about all i have for the lil ct70 is the flywheel puller

You'll probably need an impact driver to avoid stripping out screws. I disassembled a 50 last week and would have stripped ALOT had I not had one. Clutch nut tool is handy too but not necessary.

i have a pretty beefy 1/2" pneumatic impact driver so i should be good there. the clutch nut tool is pretty cheap so cant go wrong there. does anyone know why the seller is now telling me that the kit wont fit my ct70? its a stock 81' with 6 volt electrics. the listing says ct70 and racerx even said it will work. seller confused i hope?

oh, ive got a set of replacement screws on the way cuz i already drilled out the heads and popped the flywheel cover off lol. those suckers were really stuck! once the heads were drilled out and i got the cover off they spun right out by hand though

Is it back together yet? I am in suspense waiting to see how the 4 speed conversion worked. I was thinking of doing the same thing with my KO.

I find myself wishing I had 5 gears, always redlining at 85-90 KPH on my old Honda Dream engine, I know it's going to be worse with the Nice engine I want to get.

Based on experience, I'd say that's doubtful. The Nice motor is the quintessential stomper and that broad powerband works very well the OEM 4-speed ratios. With the stock crank, optimal gearing is ~7.5mph/1000rpm, which translates into ~7000rpm in your stated 85-90kph range, fine for extended cruising. Dropping a single tooth from the wheels sprocket will increase gearing by a little over 3% enough change, at that level, to make the engine fall on its face...and it'll still have enough grunt to be perfectly usable in gears 1-3. Unless you build some exotic, high-buck/high-rpm, screamer, there's more cost than benefit to be realized with a 5-speed trans.

I plan on either a 150cc or 180cc bore up kit and cam in the future once I get the 110cc

From amracing.de Hoping his prices within Thailand are a bit cheaper than on the website, but worth it none the less.

I am redlining the piss out of the honda dream I am renting, 15kms each way from home to work, doing about 80+ KPH Destroying my Kpl haha, oh well.

I'll play around with the setup once I can locate a Honda Nice, hopefully this weekend.
