I had a 1968 Honda CT90 gifted to me and am in the restoration process.......easy question, the ignition switch has 3 positions, Off, On, and something else. Online the switches I've seen appear to have only 2 positions. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the third position is for?
Thanks in advance for you help!

I believe the switch is the proper one as the Honda key and lock codes match what they should be for this bike..... again, I'll respond later.

The 67ish and 68 are kind of a weird year ignition switch but should only have 2 wires, 2 position IIRC. The 1964-66 had a 5 wire switch with 3 positions up to frame number somewhere around 120000. After that it went to the 2 wire in 67 and 68... until 69 (k1) when all of that got moved to a completely new switch up by the front forks. (mounted through a hole rather than 2 screws into the side of the frame)

Couple questions:

1. Is the mount bracket black plastic or bronze looking metal of some sort?

If its black plastic its a newer replacement, if its bronze colored metal its a factory original

2. Do you have any wires disconnected on it? Or is everything connected into the harness in the frame?

If some things are disconnected its replaced with the wrong part and somebody just made do. Otherwise I'm confused and may be able to tell you more if you let me know the frame number.
