1969 CT70 K0 3spd semi

I have been riding my restored K0 for a while now, but recently the crank has developed a knock. Wondering if its worth it to try and find the elusive 3 speed K0 crank or just do an engine swap to a Lifan or something of the like. I would probably have to replace the case halves on the original engine as well. The last time I was in there, they were pretty rough...

I would buy a good used 3 speed crank, not a Lifan. You do not want to replace the L/S case as that has the engine #s. If you are looking for a good replacement 3 speed crank, I have might have one,

The left side case has some damage in the countershaft oil seal hole. Looks like the oil seal itself kind of wallowed out the hole. How much would you charge for the 3 speed crank??

Just for curiosity what is the vin# on your original 69 motor? I have a few complete rebuilt ct motors I might let go of or trade if you decided to keep it all Honda 6 volt?

I built this motor for my 69 k-0 then found one with a closer number to the frame 125xxx so I never used..this motor number is 131878 correct for a 1969 build but most likely a month off for your bike if you care…3893 builds before yours.. P.M. me if interested for price or details..

Just an FYI: Your engine would have been in a very early 12/69 bike. His 135771 bike is also from 12/69.

I've been looking at the engine swaps pretty closely and I am thinking I will probably go that route. You guys have any recommendations on reliable brands?
I’m a big fan of the Lifan 125’s. I’ve used over 60 of these engines and have yet to have an issue with any one of them. Many have been the unbranded Lifan’s on Amazon. Yes, there are more powerful engines out there, but 55-60 is all I really want to go anyway.

Is there a way to tell if it is a lifan on amazon? I see a ton of 125 engines but none are branded.

Sadly, the cases were much worse than I thought and frankly I am tired of dealing with this engine. I am planning on doing a motor swap to a yx engine. Just want to know about if frame mounts will work since I know the 1969 K0 is just a tiny bit different in a couple of ways. Thanks and sorry for taking so long!
