Easy on the nouns Pat :) Here is my Resto-Mod. Agree it may not be what is epected. Mine uses an aftermarket frame and front end. Almost all running gear and bolts are
Honda. I will post it when I finish whenever that is. engine guard and stock airbox are installed now.

If I spent $4,000.oo to restore this 71 HK1, I would have wanted the CYS paint job to be spot on, this one isn't. CYS is a hard paint job to shoot & to perfect. Saying it looks like sh*T is your opinion, I still think it looks nice, I don't think he'll get his $4K out of it tho.:stop:

He didn't really spend 4k,that's what he wants people to believe. More corners have been cut on this bike then the dragons tail! Look close/hard and you can see the lower forks and chrome have been spray painted silver!
The shocks are the lamest china shocks I have ever seen... Mostly china crap on this one. Ya it's that bad...

I'm with Pat on this one. This is the combo K1/K0 H model in a mystery color with extra painted parts included. I won't criticize the color, that is individual choice but it's not even close to CYS.

Yep, didn't really take notice of the China shocks, and other China c-r-a-p. Just kinda looked pass that one.

But...Hopefully those CHINA shocks work as good as the CHINA made Lifan 125cc engine.:4::19:

Well, I looked at this bike very close and see the lower head/cylinder stud sticking out too far. The lower left one that takes the regular nut. They must not have not installed it all the way or mixed them up as the uppers are a different length than the lowers. That looks terrible.

I also noted that the cam cover and brake backing plates were spray bombed and the clutch cover screws were also sprayed! And the $5 dollar clutch adjustment cover was sprayed! Assorted original screws chain adjusters, aluminum handlebar holder, axles sprayed too. Really?

They couldn't spring for a 5 dollar new dipstick either. This guy didn't want to spend a dime! Sad bike for sure! I really wouldn't call it a restoration, it's more like a molestation!

there's also that "Great Tire Shine" that some of you "like" to see! LOL
Yeah, that was engine Doc's pet peeve, No Tire shine!

I guess with all that's wrong with this one, it won't make the reserve. Looked nice at first sight, must admit I read the seller's story first, before looking closer.

The speedo is from A 3 speed

That's what some buyers hope for. Some guy that doesn't know any better and can afford it. Both types of people are out there and the story is the hook!

Yep, looks like a coverup. Too many parts painted when they should be cleared. Most of the hardware looks like it came from Ace and the right side fork is bent. Says it was restored 4 years ago but I bet it still smells like paint. Run Forest Run.

Lets see if I can get one right. On the rear shocks, is the right side (muffler side) installed in the wrong direction?

Hard to tell but they're definitely aftermarket shocks.

I still have so much to learn, I thought it looked pretty good:39:

It's actually a decent looking bike, it's just not what the seller claims (restored like new). Unless he paid someone 3K to paint it, there's no way he has 4K invested unless he's adding up his labor cost at a rate that dealerships use.

As long as there was no skimping on the rebuild of the engine & transmission, I think the buyer will luv this lil HK1. Only the really experienced peeps would ever know about it's short comings on the restoration. I wish em' Happy Trails:10:
