Bike don't currently run but I'm planning on changing that (hopefully)... picked up for $300 hoping I did good on that aspect but who has the best variety of parts for these machines

I believe it was due to age restrictions. Some states would allow you to drive under so many cc's for 16 years and under. By '71 only the ST and CT 90's with automatic clutch's were left here in the states anyway replaced by the new style vertical engines with primary kick starting

Hey Chad, I'm glad you finally got logged in. As I mentioned on FB a lot of parts can be found at www.dratv.com Beatrice has the cables, battery, and headlight. If I were you I would buy the off road headlight. It will fit steel headlight bucket and save some cash. Also if you have the red and red/white "Y" with fuse holder on the wiring harness, I would install a sealed 6 volt battery. Those batteries last long and have a smaller foot print. The gas tank will be harder to find. A member here may have one or keep an eye on ebay. I might have one for you depending on the color you need.

The cl70 are pretty easy to work on. The main wiring harness is a little more complex then say a CT70. The condenser is installed off the stator plate and on the ignition coil. Also the bike must have a good charged battery to make spark.

I would recommend; get the bike running and driving first then worry about cables tank and etc.

X2. the OEM Honda sealed beam headlight is about $40 and that does not include the chrome trim piece. Even if you're a purest and aiming for perfection, the AFT version that DRATV sells would be cheap insurance while you're getting everything sorted out. ASFAIK, it's the same headlight assembly as used on K1-78, so you may get lucky on e-Bay with a used one. Assuming of course, the seller has tested both elements in the sealed beam to make sure it works.

Any idea if the cables from a ct70 will fit the cl70??? I bought a all cable replacement kit off eBay and I didn't read that they said ct not cl so I'm hoping someone will say they fit fine so I can use them and move forward
