Can anyone give me some feed back of aftermarket add on oil filters . I am into a winter project installing a 125cc on my CT. I was thinking of adding an exterier oil filter kit. Any feed back would be much appreciated. ( who keeps them in stock, how to hook them up, are they worth while , etc.) Anyone who has these on their bikes , please post some pics. I am sure that everyone would be interested. At the same time may as well show off the jewely...........:D
Thanks

The only filter of which I am aware for these bikes is made by Kitaco. At $135 it's a bit pricey and the replacement filter elements are $10 a pop...the price of a Mobil-1 oil filter for a small block Chevy(!). Still, it's a very nicely made billet piece and if you change the filter every 1-2000 miles, you won't be spending a ton of money on filter cartridges. As to the effectiveness, I'd say it's a quantum leap over the stock oil spinner, which gets left in place. I always find small particles in the filter element that would have otherwise been circulated with the oil. How much difference this makes in the long haul is speculation, but it seems like cheap in my view. After all, a clean engine is a happy engine.:)

I will always run this little Kitaco jem on all of my hypo motors !!! This happens to be installed on my MINIME Racing 124 Pitster pro X2 . It's the siliver aluminum canister with the electrical tape wraped around it in the middle to protect the aluminum from the tie wrap I used to secure it in place . It's connected to the head via the oil tap plate which is purchased separately . It's not the best pic , but you get the idea ... Have a look :) ....
