Backyard Blasting with Baking Soda

I am quite sure the subject of soda blasting has come up before.

So far, I've used it to clean up the cylinder head, carburetor and now the cylinder. Used a small box on the cylinder. The head took maybe 2.

I am really surprised to see the factory green paint mark when I was finished. Almost too nice to paint.

Just wanted to bring this up again and make people aware of this process to take their restorations to the next level very easily.

Keep on Ridin'.

I second the virtues of soda. I use the smaller 15 pound Harbor Freight model with a 2.5 HP compressor. Awesome for cleaning engines.

Anyone got a high temp paint to recommend for the cylinder once clean? VHT high temp gloss black or satin?
