Ok everybody, go ez on me on this one. I have a friend who purchased this kit.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Cylinder-H...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

His cyl/piston is toast, and the intake valve is tuliped. Seats would need to be cut. I told him I would put it on, with loving care. Will need some timing chain and related parts, points, clutch etc.

So the price of this kit is SHOCKINGLY cheap. Anyone here have any experience with these? Or could link me a thread? Kinda want to do it just for the entertainment value alone! lol

For how much the thing will be used, might be just fine.

I hate to even put a D.I.D. timing chain in it, but its only a few bucks more.

I think they run low compression even when they are new, like 80-100 psi, no smoke though because it's all new. Somthing to do with where wristpin is located or dome on piston or head. Maybe a good set up for a blower or turbo though? The kit was for the newer motors which it might be ok on other than China quality. Maybe they changed or made a kit for older motors, post your compression reading after its broke in.

shoot! I can see by the pictures in post 40 that the piston is sitting too low. I have only rebuilt older ct70s and the piston comes to darn near the top of the cyls flat area where the head gasket sits. hmmm Not starting out at 80psi. So he might have to send it back, or just get a high dome piston w/rings. I can see from the pics its a low dome piston.

wonder if putting a high dome piston/rings in would get it back?

Yup, it was one of those too good to be true prices

edit: post 42 the OP says cant run the high dome piston in the china head. I am guessing he means cant put a high dome piston in the china cyl/head with the short rod cuz it will hit.

I remember something about E22 heads working with High dome pistons and short rods

Using your link in post 1, if you look at the last picture of the auction, it shows a measurement of the Bore of 46 mm, not 47, so that's not to good either.
Thanks Roy,

I sent the seller a link to mk2davis's thread .... seller offered to refund $29 to keep the kit. Its a 47mm piston and bore. Just will give low compression (80psi) when used on a short rod crank. He should change the auction description.
