Thanks for the information. So the hubs have paint too?I've never discovered primer underneath the cloud silver on the hubs or rims of originals. I dont think there was clearcoat on them originally, except the brake pad hub. I just blast, clean, paint, and clear over them.
Since these rims are like a one way water valve, spread a very thin coat of sealer on the inside where the halves bolt together.
Thanks!Honda did not primer anything- Cloud Silver direct to metal and no clear is what they used on CT wheels and hubs . What you choose is up to you just make sure they all play well together. Hub covers were polished and cleared.
The inner brake hub assembly was polished and cleared. Not the spoke brake drum. Thanks for the information. So the hubs have paint too?
When you say sealer, what exactly do you mean? Like painted or primed? The inner brake hub assembly was polished and cleared. Not the spoke brake drum.
Btw, when I mentioned about sealing the rim halves together, I should have said about only doing one of them. let it cure before assembly. That way you stop most of the rust and dont have a mess to clean up every time after taking it back apart.
Right where the halves bolt together on the inside, put a thin layer of silicone on one of the halves. Just washing these bikes, water WILL get in.When you say sealer, what exactly do you mean? Like painted or primed?
Thanks again! I am sure when the rims are painted and the spoke hubs are painted it match better too!The inner brake hub assembly was polished and cleared. Not the spoke brake drum.
