Groms and such

Groms never stuck here on the lilhonda forum. There are forums dedicated to them and even FB groups so no foul. I left the CT70 world and have been in the Grom world. I miss a lot of what was here over the years with friendships and good information shared willingly. Not something I have come across in other forums. Just thought I would post what my projects have been and to keep it relevant I have included my 2020 Grom red with Ohlins front and rear, Corbin seat, Tb cam, airbox mods, and a flashed tune on the ecu. A great bike. In front of it is my last project. A Blue 2019 CB300gRom. Yes 300cc’s. But still a single cyl. Hope you enjoy 😁

There's nothing wrong with Groms, they have their place, but for me they just don't have that classic appeal like the Super Cub, Monkey 125, or the new Dax. They're still Li'l Hondas in my book.

Deoodles,
Glad you posted man. I will never stop loving my Z50's or CT70's, but I just bought a GROM and think I will enjoy it just as much. I hope you continue to visit this site as it is one of my favorites.

Saw your post. I’m sold on the Groms. But the 4 speed versions. I’ve had 2 5 speed transmission failures. Also the 300 Grom conversions. Wishing you the best with your new toy

Should I be concerned about my 5 speed Monk. This is the first I've heard of any issues. Mine's been trouble free for 2500 miles, no noises, no nothing. Shifts like a dream.

I had 2 2022 Groms. One had 2400 miles and was fine. One had 400 miles and was screeching in 4th. Also a 2022 monkey with 800 miles that screeched in 3,4,and 5th. Once they cooled down they got better. That’s a 67% failure rate. I sold all 3 and won’t touch the 5 speeds. Is yours okay, probably fine. They don’t all fail. I think the 22 Grom is my all time favorite mini but won’t buy another due to the transmission issues I have had. BTW. Mine shifted great for the first 40 miles then got a gritty sticky feel to the shift.

if it's that bad an issue I wonder if there was any factory recall or service bulletin. I don't do crazy stuff on mine and have only hit the rev limiter once, though I ride flat out 45-55 almost all the time.
