I just love Red Green. Handyman Corner and the Ranger Gord cartoons were my favorite segments. I miss that show.

Damn... poor critter got whacked. Guess he'll miss 'The Big Game' today, but I won't... probably better run to WallyWorld here shortly to bag more beer so I don't run out tonight. I heard on the radio that the day after Super Bowl Sunday holds the record for most sick calls from employees nationwide, I suppose they get too hammered and say "F#% work!" on Monday morning, lol... but I'll be going in to work, I like my job and I intend to keep it, 10-4? The benefits are too good... y'all suppose that groundhog had life insurance? Lol... :cautious:

We had one of the best PBS stations in the country, before public broadcasting was gutted in the early 2000s. WTVS was responsible for bringing Red Green to the US of A in September 1993, 2 years after it debuted across the border. The early episodes (the show ran for 15 years) were different, a little edgier & less PC. I liked the segments with Hap Shaugnessy (the water taxi operator) and Dougie Franklin (the obnoxious American)...funny stuff. Agreed, when the show ended in 2006 it was the end of an era.

I just bet that the duct tape companies just loved him.lol. "The handy man's secret weapon." I remember him showing how to change the oil on some car and practically destroyed it. Great show.

I met Steve Smith back in December `93. WTVS brought him into town for a "meet & greet". Quick-witted, funny & down-to-earth guy. And yes, duct tape manufacturers must've loved the free advertising. BTW, I remember at least one episode where he had a 3' wide roll of duct tape...clearly, at least one manufacturer was paying attention.;)
