Is Green paint spot on engine head correct?

I have noticed multiple times a green paint spot below the exhaust on the head. Can anyone else confirm this? Do you know of any other manufacturing paint spots on the bike? Should this be replicated on restorations? :)

This one is from a 1969 but I also noticed it on a 12/70 3 speed I just sold with semi low miles.

Interesting. I do recall seeing this on one of my bikes but don't remember which one. I believe it may have been a K0 engine I sold. I just figured, with so much I've seen, someone got happy with a spray can for yet again unknown reasons. Never would have suspected it was...Honda!:13::4:

Can confirm that 5 out of 8 engines that I looked at have the green paint mark. Not a fluke. When I get a chance, I'll pull them off the rack that I store them on and give you the engine types that I see them on.

I've seen the green spot on several of my bikes. I'm not sure why its there but would be interested to find out. If anyone figures it out please let us know.
