Funny, I was just on offer up and there's a complete running TS125 for $650. Cheap because he has no title, just a bill of sale. I noticed that the engine cradle could be easily separated from the rest of the frame. If you could find a junker or a roller, it could save you a lot of work. I also noticed that the drive chain is on the opposite side than on the CT90. You'd have to flip the rear wheel, and modify the brake linkage. First thing I'd do, though, would be to clean up and organize that shed so you'll have a decent workspace.

The ts125 engine I have has the same side output shaft. The stuff in the shed isn't a mess, there's just enough of it that it takes up half of it. I still have a decent amount of space to work, just not enough room for another workbench.

Once you take the time to optimize the rear brake you'll find no need for a rear disc .

I -do- understand how some simply *must* tinker and change things .

Yeah, I understand that. I plan to go with the factory rear and replace the front with a disc.

Okay, cool .

The same can be said for the front brake, doing stoppies is dead easy once you've optimized the front brake .

A guy from my old CT90/110 club used to build speedy bikes using bicycle wheels with disc brakes, those were FAST ~ he let me test ride a few of them .

I like the look, and my front wheel and suspension is screwed, so new front forks and front wheel is a bucket list item anyways, so why not make it as best as I can?

I put new brakes on my CL90 and they stop fine in normal riding, but if I had to stop quickly at speed, like a panic stop or a quick red light at 50+ mph they'll fade. I keep my eyes open for a front disc set up. like from a CB125 or something.

I thought about the cb125 front end, but it's cheaper for me to get these and I won't have to rebuild them.

Those seem like a deal. Have you sourced and priced what the caliper, disc, hydraulics and wheel will cost? If I can find a CB125 being parted out, I can get everything all at once. Sometimes this stuff can nickel and dime you to death.

I have priced all that stuff to an average. If I can get what I'm looking at it will cost about 200. I have some decent tires already that I can throw on for temporary. This is after all a long term project. I expect atleast another year before I even have the engine in the chassis.

That's interesting as I too have a CL90 and I like to ride it flat out including in the mountains and my 240# fatbutt has never been able to fade the brakes front or rear .

Found these pictures of when I first got the bike, some plastic repair I did, and a few of paint. Enjoy!

Hey Nate, how ya doin'? When my CL90 still had a 90 in it, I never had had any braking issues either. It's when you triple the horsepower and add another 40 lbs. it makes a difference.

I was just wondering, what diameter is the fork tubes, and is the front wheel an 18 incher? Thanks, no rush. beautiful summer like day today. Busted out the scooters and the wife, dog and I went for a putt around Chino/ Ontario.

I don’t come here often anymore ,so glad I popped in .Anyways ,I have several trail 90 basket cases ,and this fall I picked up a cb125 roller for $20.00 with a complete front end and disk brake setup for a swap .the forks are 27 mm and the front rim is 18” ,the rear is 17” so it might be possible to swap the hoop over although I didn’t look into it any further .
You are right ,it was a nice day in Ontario ,although I think we are talking two different Ontario’s in two different countries ,but we had nice spring like weather today around 40f and the snow is melting .

Thanks for the info Bruces, that's just what I needed. If I could pick up a CB125 roller for $200 it would be a deal. Yeah, my Ontario is about 35 miles from Disneyland and it hit 79 degrees F today. My bike's fine as it is, but I'll keep and eye out for a CB125 front end, one will show up sooner or later.
