Kepspeed swingarm in 1980 CT70 frame

Just test fitting the new swingarm in the frame, and noticed a lot of space on either side.

Am I missing some hardware? Has anyone seen slop in a kepspeed swingarm, laterally, before?

Or will this go away once it is torqued, and I am overthinking it?

I’ve used aftermarket (not kepspeed) swingarms an had to add a thin washer/shim to both sides to remove the clearnence…by just tightening the bolt it might bend the frame more on one side then the other throwing things out of wack just a little..I used theses thin cooper thrust washers from G.M. automatic transmissions so there’s no rusting…others on this site may have a better way so wait for them to pipe in..

I don’t have any here at my house but do have some at work that I can measure on Monday when I go back..as long as there equal on each side and thick enough to take up the slop you should be good.

The swingarm is extended length? What size did you go with and how tall are the shocks. To my eyes they look at the very minimum of 350mm.
I like the color scheme. How bout going black on the hubs? I would leave the brake plates alone. Here is a pic how the hubs look in black. They don't show the dirt like silver. IMG_1475.jpg my ride has 350mm rears. With gigantic 120/90/10's Don't forget to put blue Loctite on the rear hub to rim bolts. And make sure they are good and tight.

I'm honestly considering that I bought a swingarm for the wrong bike. There is not a single contact point on this swingarm that mates up properly to anything else. So far, I've had to fabricate/rig pieces to allow fit for:

- swingarm pivot connection to the frame
- spacers for the oem hub to fit in the swingarm
- connections for rear brake stabilizing bar
- shock connection to swingarm

Understanding that aftermarket pieces are definitely not OEM Honda quality, I am still flummoxed at how it could be THIS bad. Maybe I screwed up.

Just a heads up…..Your also going to find that when using a 2 inch extended swing arm the rear wheel and rear fender look off or funny ( in my personal opinion) being the tire is not under the curve of the fender..you can install a spacer between the lower fender mounting bolts to correct the geometry but then the tail light bracket will not bolt on…I had a rusty bent up tail light bracket I drilled all the spot welds out then straighten and cut everything down to fit and brazed back together and painted black..…( many hours of work)….I looked everywhere for some other kind of tail light but couldn’t find anything I liked.. you will get a more stable ride with the longer wheel base so if you plan on going fast it might be worth the extra fab work? I also chopped some off the lower section of the fender..
