Top chrome piece installed, new tachometer cable bracket installed, and rear tail lamp assembled (all Honda parts). Boring easy stuff, but progress none the less. Would it make sense to go ahead and set the engine on the engine holder and mount it as one single piece? I think the answer is YES. I'm trying to move pretty fast on this because I need to get back to my original 1970 A66 Challenger. Spring is almost here, and I have a rebuilt date-coded alternator to install (from Totally Auto) and I'm currently rebuilding my power steering pump. While I love CT70s, it's hard to beat an old mopar....especially one with 68,000 miles.... I removed my engine before from my K3 before to clean/paint it. It had such good compression that it would be a complete waste of time to tear it apart. I remembered it being pretty easy, but I preferred to have someone holding it up as I attached the cross-member that has the side-stand. Probably the same with this one. ALL black parts on this ride have been professionally sandblasted and powder coated. This should be a beauty when finished......with some patina to remind you that it's a 1970, late year K0. I created this thread 9 days ago....and this bike I would say is 70% finished. That's from a complete start, with parts dug-up from bags uncleaned from 3 years ago. Not too bad speed-wise.
