Can someone recommend a zinc plater for nuts/bolts ect. preferably someone that you have recently used and you were happy with the work they did. Also how do they quote you a price by piece, by pound? TIA

I personally haven't got to that point yet. I'll be following this thread to see if anyone responds though, because I'll be getting bolts/nuts etc zinc or cadmium plated sometime far down the road.

There used to be some guys on this board who plated everything.

I think they've all been banished from the group.

Maybe because they were platers? I'd be careful if I were you.

I have used one, works pretty good. You have to make sure your part is really clean. It is time consuming, but no worries about your plater losing parts!

Do you have before and after pics? An after pic would be good enough for me. Would just like to see a real world result.

I'll have to look on my camera and see since I wont be home til April. I'll see what I can dig up,I know I had some and was in the planning stage of doing a write up and life intervened. The better the part starts out the better it looks, naturally. If you have a bolt that just has flash rust it cleans up well,if pitted it's not worth the time

From left: immersion heater for degreasing tank, small circulating pump for plating tank(keeps everything mixed), degreasing tank, blue box controls heater in DG tank, power supply for plating, plating tank with anodes on top with buss bar. Last are bags and bags of parts awaiting prep. More to follow.

What cabinet is that? And will a frame fit in it? Looks like the HF/CP one. If it is, how is it holding up?
