I hope this isn't a sign of things to come, price wise... The bikes I find in my neck of the woods are already expensive compared to what others find nationally on craigslist or neighbors/buddies/friendsoffriends, etc... Does the last one (the one that sold for 7750) look funny to anyone else? The emerald green doesn't seem quite right... and a grab handle under the seat? Yes it is a very good restoration, and far nicer than anything I have. Might just be non-optimal lighting. But wow! I hope it is the excitement of the auction as Larry said.

You know, that one caught my eye, I've seen it before. I can't remember where I've seen it, either on eBay or CL, but I recall the photo of a green bike in a storage facility. Maybe others can recall where I saw it.

it looks like a non candy paint job. almost like a non-metallic single stage. sorry but candy is aptly named for a reason. even under fluorescent lighting.

The lighting is effecting what your seeing placek59,however there are ALOT of aftermarket items. The badges are cheap repro aftermarket 3 speed version. It doesn't have ''important'' in red. Trail70 decals are cheap ''no black in between the T and the R.
front fender, handlebars look aftermarket seat and kicker too. Someone clueless to what ''the bike should really be or look like'' bought this.

Wow...just wow...seems like the prices were awfully high. I saw one there I thought might be worth it. My red, unrestored, 1969 non-silver tag in red with 1300 miles is in better shape than any of the KO's that were offered and maybe on par condition wise with the green 4-speed. I only paid 800 for it! My wife has also agreed that I can bring it into the house and display it...so that makes me happy!

lol, Now you know how I feel trying to buy a bike here in town, anytime one comes up the prices are usually over the top. That's why I've gotten bike from CA & AZ.

ps. Sounds like your wife is realizing these things aren't just a hobby but also an investment!
