Here is a 12/70 Ct70 I picked up today.

1,120 miles from the original owner. Last year he let his neighbors kids drive it and they crashed it breaking the headlight, speedo cable and broke the speedo glass.

looks great joejo.
I believe the damage stuff is easily fixed. May I ask what you gave for it? I saw one just like this on CL in Traverse city.

To all others that reply to this thread, take a look at the cable stays on the bars. First Ive seen of this type. Stock??:39:

Thanks Dupa, My intention with the pictures of the handlebars was to generate a conversation about the cable stays. I did purchase it from the CL ad. Joe

Nice find, congrats.

Yeah that's the first time I've laid eyes on those stays to - I thought all Honda used were the plastic ties.

I had one that had the same clip.It was a gold '70 KO.Not sure if it was original or not but i'm pretty sure it was.Don't know.

Not stock but, very creative! Stock Trail 70's have a white plastic ziptie like device to secure the cables to the handle bars. Shocked to hear this is the second found like this. They look like tool box (tool) retaining clips.

Someone could have added this, and then again it could be some of Honda's left overs from previous years. It is a perfect fit and it appeared to be original.I have seen this on other older model bikes but can't remember which ones.
all my bikes have had the plastic tie wraps except for the one gold which was original before i restored it.

You'll see them on bicycles, especially older 10 speeds for their cables.

Vdross,
Any in your herd have any clips like this ? :42:

Just got around to cleaning up this bike. I took the bike apart and cleaned up everything but did not do any restoration work. I replaced the stator cover with a spare that was laying around, and found an old NOS headlight bucket that matches very good.

Joejoe,
Nice bike, I too really like that seat, how's the seat pan and did it come with the tool kit? I still want the Ducati Hypermotard. I'll trade ya'.
