New Wera JIS scredriver Bit Set!

Finally found a good JIS driver set. Was getting tired of stripping out JIS screw heads all the time (with Harbor Freight bits) and then having to drill them out. :102:

The problem with those HF bits is they cam out pretty fast with moderate use, mostly due to substandard steel.

The gold bits in this set are diamond coated and are said to outlast all. There's an attachment so all these tools can be used with a power driver. That speeds things up and makes wrenching less tiring.

I researched other bike forums for JIS drivers and this Wera set is what they were using.

Wera is a German company and it's name is pronounced 'Vera'.

All else the same, diamond coating ought to give those bits a lot more bite. Yet another demonstration of the difference between price(tag) and cost (over the long haul). You get what you pay for but, it's not always obvious from the start. With critical tools like these, investing a few extra bucks will end up paying you back with interest...

Yep it's one thing working on semi-non critical parts like on and around the frame but inside the engine is not where you want your tool to fail and cam out a fastener.

This KC tool web site is on their game with real live humans to talk to. I called them on the phone for a couple O' Q's: before I purchased.

They sent me a 'Small bit of Thanks' which is a complimentary #2 Phillips bit thrown in the deal, that was nice of em. :)
