OE Fuel Line, Filter?

Hey everyone,

I would like to start riding my '71 ct70 on the road later this summer, but I want to replace a few pieces first. I want to replace each fuel line as well as run a small inline fuel filter in each line. I want to keep the bike as close to Original as reasonably possible, and was curious what to use for the fuel lines? and the fuel line clamps. also, did this bike even come with in line fuel filters? If not, do you think I could hide them tight to the tank, before the fuel lines exit the frame above the motor?
Thanks for your input guys! REALLY looking forward to finally hitting the streets with her!

I just pulled out the gas tank and switched out the carb Monday afternoon.
I used two inline filters and if you only use about 2 inches of fuel line then the filter then continue with the fuelline it will be hidden and out of the way of the airbox. I bought the stuff from chpusa.net but I think dratv has it as well. they have fuel line and the clamps as well as the filters on the first site mentioned.

Stock it did not have filters unless it was built in the carb?

So when the filters clog you guy's are willing to pull the motor? Thats great how are you going to know just when that is going to happen? In the driveway or 10 miles from home?Clean the tank and fix or replace what ever it needs rather than put bandaids on. There is a screen under the petcock lever

I don't run in-line fuel filters on my HKO and HK1 as they have plastic tanks. I do however, use filters on the K2 and both K3's because they have steel tanks. The filters are exposed forward of the air canister and can be seen and swapped easily. I use oem sized hose and fuel line clamps.
The carb does have a screen but, a second line of defense with a rusty or old steel tank can only help.

Inline filters are useless? I pulled the tank and cleaned it, installed new line.
Do the filters clog easily is this a bad setup?

Thanks for the help guys, now I know the stock fuel line was black, could I not use normal black fuel line from my auto parts store? If I can, can anybody tell me what size ID to buy?

More than likely auto store fuel line will have too thick walls making the outside diameter too large.

3/16" urethane fuel line.
Premium Gas Fuel Line - 3/16" ID - Blue - 5' Length - ATV Motorcycle Snowmobile | eBay

clear inline filters

Visu In Line Fuel Filter Snowmobile Dirt Bike Atv Utv | eBay

I buy 20 at a time from DRATV when I put in an order,

I heat up the fuel line with a heat gun and a touch of vasaline on the barb, fuel line slides right on, you have to cut it to get it off, no clamps required, if you rinse out your tank, it would be YEARS before these things would restrict flow. I use this setup on everything I own, never had a problem, you can see the fuel, and what its doing. try it, you will never use anything else
