Oil Dipsticks

I just received a replacment dipstick for a 1970 CT70H.
It was a different length, giving less oil to put in as mark was lower.

I pulled the DS out of my 72 & it matched the new one.
Both take 0.8 liters.

So how could they operate at different oil levels, with the same 0.8 liters

There are 2 part numbers

15650-051-690 = CT70= more oil

15650-098-730 = CT70H

They are different lengths, but first is superceded to 730 one.
