Original color for my 75' XL70

Evening all,

How can I tell what the original color was of my 75' XL 70? Also the frame. Was it black or silver? This is a 75 correct? The motor # says 75. The frame is 11/74, but the ID not so sure.

Use a centerpunch on the VIN tag rivets, drill them out, then start at the corner of the tag with some fishing line to remove it(so it wont bend out of shape). The paint under the tag should be pretty well preserved. If someone ever repainted that frame, I doubt they removed the tag.

I have a 1977 xl, which looks to be the same color tank.
I believe
it is Tahitian red, not 100 % sure though

Frame black..tank blue.....these are about the most perfect small bike japan ever sent us outside of hodaka...i turned down good money once for my topaz orange 74...one honda bike i am keeping....
