... The X being extended off road trail capabilities and adventure with the build of a custom, matching paint Honda CT70.

The idea was born nearly 3 months ago at a fellow member's garage, complete with a horde of Honda CT70's in his stable here in North Texas. His name is Don, and he's from Plano.
Me? I'm Al, from Allen.
I love saying that! Allen is the next town north of the Dallas Meteroplex.
Don and I met through mini bikes Suzuki's and Honda CT70's and other Honda trail models and pouring over Craigslist and eBay ads Since our initial meeting Don and I found we have similar interest, same age and lived in Albuquerque, NM in early 70's.
On a hot afternoon in Don's garage I bought up I had another build finish. A 1970 originally candy gold KO. I was undecided what to do with what I had and really didn't know what I wanted. Ya see, I am anal and to stick originality. But I knew I didn't want Candy Gold KO.
Don listened to me bitch and moan and be indecisive for a few minutes. It was probably more like hours if not days of pining and whining.

What I had:
2014 Modded custom Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X

The Honda CT70:

Nearly 90% of a 1970 Candy Gold KO. Disassembled.
- Frame media blasted in black epoxy primer.
- Original Matching to frame, rebuilt by Darrel Gunderson over a year ago when he lived and worked in Hollister, Missouri. Seems so long ago Darrel. Doesn't it?
- Re-chromed, re-plated parts hardware and fresh powder coated items- Many new original, no longer available Honda CT70 parts I managed to horde when tracking down parts for my previous HKO's

Missing
- seat and or usable seat pan
- complete exhaust
- no rear shocks
- no Speedometer

Goals and Ideas I pined and whined about:
- Finish last build before my ever advancing Parkinson's Disease or like I recently experienced , a heart attack and subsequent angioplasty and stint take away all my viable paths
- I wanted mobility. Be able to use my existing vehicle to transport one or two bike long or short distances without losing valuable passenger / cargo
- It Has to cost a lot less than each of my previous restorations. I know... you do it for the fun of the hobby. It is NOT FOR PROIFIT

Don at this point, I am guessing, has had enough of my BS and planted the seed. Go do your hitch transportation ideas. Put it all together and run with it. Then build a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X Companion bike like yours.
Then continues with " let's do it KO/K1 hybrid". I said to Don I wanted to keep costs down. Here is where his friendship shined. "I've got tons of parts" "I probably have what you need/want.". For some reason Don started piling things into my Jeep,. K1 fork, seat (new), hocks and this thingy and that thingy.
Unknown to me, Don was selling all his Honda stuff. But he first made sure I had all that I needed for my build.

Don, you encouraged and inspired me to do this build. Thank you!

Here is The Peek!
