Somehow lost track of it and my cousin had it in his barn, same bike I rode way back. Not sure how he ended up with it, but the title was still in my dads name. My wife picked it up and gave it to my for my birthday in 2005. Still spent $3.5k to restore.

a load of gravel

Here is my Yard Barn find. I delivered a load of stone to a residence and we got to talking and she told me she still had hers, so she took me over to the yard shed and there it was. I asked her what she was going to do with it and said that she would like to fix it up, but... well I ended up taking it in on trade for the load of stone that I had brought her.:16:

Barn find? Yes. A true one:

To be honest, it was my own shed's attic where we left this bike when I was 17. The second picture is the same bike after the restore:

This HK1 I got off a buddy of mine for nothing! A Freebee! He was gonna put it in a yard sale for $15! I told him i'll take it for that. He told me just to take it. I have all the pieces just all of them are not pictured. I have the motor at a buddies house getting rebuilt and most of the other parts are on the table behind the frame.

I got this emerald HKO recently at a really good price. It's a little rough but a fairly complete bike. All the hard to find parts are there. I love this emerald green color!

I picked up this HK1 for parts a few months ago. I'll use what I need then part out the rest.

my barn find

I picked up the blue 1974 dissassembled from a guy who got this one and a running yellow 1972 (breifly shown) both for $200 from his buddies garage. I picked up the apparently complete blue one for $250 but it needed a stator and carb and a few brake parts. A few months later i broke down and bought the yellow one for $130, and put the 900 mile engine back on the blue frame. I am slowly going to restore one and beat on the other

Barn Find

IMG_0337.jpg Never posted a photo here before, sorry if it doesn't work. I found this HK0 in a barn in central Wisconsin last year. The man was the original owner. He was infirm and was worried his grandkids would get it and wreck it after he passed. One kick starter, all original, titled and all manuals. 600 bucks.

Just wondering, where do you guys find these things? Just driving by and seeing them from the side of the road? Or do you have a "method" for finding them? It seems like you could make a fun day looking for some :39:
