and it was't really that hard to do, was taking off the chain guard and snapped one of the bolts with a shorty wrench. Anyone have any tips on getting the bolt out? Does applying heat deform the frame's sheet metal or coase damage?

Thanks, Mike

You can try drilling a hole into the part stuck in the frame and attempt to use an "easy out". Dont let the name fool you its really a pain in the arse to do and they usually break on such small bolts. Otherwsie. It may be easier to drill the whole thing out and put a helicoil in there.

Left handed drill bits

Get left handed drill bit and centerpunch it in the center and drill it out and if your lucky it will catch and twist it out for you.
I have done this many times you need a drill that will run backwards.

Good luck

Actually you could get away with a standard drill bit. There is no back to that screw hole and it should run right through.

Either solution is fine. The most important part is getting the drill bit centered. So far, I've been able to drill these out every time. The worst ones have been to the threads and a 6mm tap made for a quick & clean repair.:D

You cannot apply enough heat to make a difference without burning lots of paint off and, yes, the likelyhood of metal warpage is very high.
