I would throw in my 2 cents for Enzo as well (motoenzo.com). I don't have any experience with other builders, but had a positive experience with Enzo and am quite comfortable recommending him.

ct70honda.com aka RacerX here in these forums. Bob is a serial perfectionist.

However, there is nothing to these motors. I would strongly encourage everyone to learn how to do it yourself. Might as well upgrade displacment while you are at it, especially since I'd want a minimum of 88cc's riding these on streets.

Every single person in this forum can build one of these motors with basic tools, with only a flywheel puller, clutch nut tool and a torque wrench not being common. Half the fun of building a bike is going through the motor.

I couldn't agree more with that statement! I would say even MORE fun is going thru the motor. If I can take a 5 gallon pail of CT motor parts to 44 mph in a few months anyone can!

MSZ is right in some ways and i wish i could rebuild engines with that ,but i have 60 thousand dollars + in equipment to rebuild these engines. if i need to heli ark something or press a bearing out or put a valve guide in and ream or cut a valve seat or bore a cylinder or tap something and install a heli coil ,bead blast and use a buffer and paint a engine with a 600 dollar spray gun and turn something on a lathe or use a milling machine is something u cant do this with basic tools. i think its cool for someone to rebuild there on engine and i have posted that here before. i see i have people bashing me on the discount rebuild service that im offering i wish i have not offered the discount. i was trying too do something good but its look like the gutter.

Mark I just got back and am not caught up on posts, but why anyone would bash you for offering a discount on one of your rebuilds is beyond me...I appreciate your offer. Thank You.

You know, it may just be me, but the $100 discount had nothing to do with why I am going to send Mark my Third engine. It has everything to do with that I feel he does a great job for a fair price. He also has been very free (like everyone on this site) with giving his opinion and expertise on questions I have asked him. If a $100 discount was going to motivate me to begin yet another one of these little buggers I must be in more denile than I think I already am about how much I have invested in these
:loco:

Heck, the last time I checked most National chains don't have a price guarantee on what you bought yesterday for today.

As the adage goes: "No good deed goes unpunished":68:

Mark, for whatever it's worth I second Karen's comments, but your getting my engine with or without the discount.:3:

Well said Jim sir! I too, have had engines re-built by Mark and will get more of mine. Bob gets alot of my custom work and his custom parts are on my bikes for a reason, quality. With that said, you can't go wrong with either of these guys. Mark worked for Honda for a guzillion years and knows these motors inside and out. So choose whoever you want, and good luck.

Mark,

Can you provide a link where people are bashing you in your rebuild service thread? Either the comments were deleted by another moderator or admin or I'm missing something here. I didn't delete any threads.

$300 plus parts is reasonable for the services you offer. I'm not taking away from that.

Lastly, Ben Tiedgen is going to be contacting a number of companies and individuals to see if they want to advertise here to help support the forums. This helps keep the website we all know and love going.

You should discuss your advertising options with him and give something back to the vehicle that drives business your way. Just a friendly suggestion.

Keep up the good work.

That's exactly why i send mine to the Pro's.As much as i put in my restorations i would hate to have to tear an engine back down due to a rookie mistake and risk damaging an expensive paint job.If i didn't have a local shop here i would definetly be sending mine to Mark, especially at his prices.
Mark,i think some of the post were just messing with you if it's the one's i had read.

Ditto. The engines have a lot of moving parts and there are experts out there with years of expierence and affordable prices. It's a no brainer to have someone like Mark look it over and do it right the 1st time. I learned the hard way. I'm still lost about the bashing remark.

Well I sure hope you're not referring to my humorous post! Hell that would be the day I let you send me money back - your rebuilds are well worth what you charge. It is a grand offer and I recommend anyone who is "on the fence" about a rebuild take advantage of Mark's offer!!!

Signed:

One very happy customer!

I agree -- I bought a couple engines from Mark , long before Planetminitrails . He's a good guy that IMO charges a reasonable price for a very good rebuild .
