CT 70 cover

Hello everyone, Looking for some input on a motorcycle cover for my CT70. wondering if anyone has any experiance with any. Cloth type fits well and durable. Sure someone here can chime in . THANKS

The first thing that comes to mind is a BBQ cover. I know, I know but it's durable, cheap, about the right size with optional sizes, optional material and it could also be stealth-like. It would be almost like using what G.W. Bush termed "Strategery". He made that word up but he looked damn cool when he said it.

If it were too long, you could "hem" it up. Don't get one that says Weber or it may get stolen. Get one that says "Made in China". Yep. That's the ticket.

Maybe cover your bike with 1/2 naked or scantily clad women.

On a side note: This thread may be taking a turn for the worse. If it does, Old CT started it...

Ive got that movie. Yes, the remake was a joke.

Anyway, back on topic.....

An old thick shower curtain and bungee cords(if outside) works pretty good.

Drapes from the 60's-70's with the dingle balls, works well too... You see you want to keep it period correct if possible. Twice pipes is nice too but that is a discussion for another thread:rolleyes::sleep:.

Sure there is.

  • Indoor/climate-controlled location...dust is the main issue. Pretty much anything from a light duty tarp (cotton, canvas, plastic) to a bed sheet will do the job. For scuff/dent protection, a movers blanket works well and on the cheap, too.
  • Indoor, non-climate-controlled...the best setup is a bike bubble, though I've not seen them small enough for a CT70. You could probably fit 2-4 small Hondas into one made for a big bike. These are self-inflating and keep air circulating around the machinery, no condensation to worry about. Next best would be an outdoor-rated bike cover.
  • Outdoor location...an outdoor-rated bike cover is about the only good choice. It's tempting to use a plastic tarp but, moisture/condensation will become a problem.
In terms of fitment, I doubt that there are many well-tailored, off-the-shelf, choices out there, for bikes this small. That said, it's not that difficult having a textile cover altered by an upholstery shop, especially one that specializes in boats, or a drapery shop. I've seen a number of scooters with what appeared to be fitted, outdoor-rated, covers; one of those should get you close. Some extra material length would be handy...to weigh-down, for wind stability. Having a cover custom-made shouldn't be difficult, sourcing the outdoor-rated fabric would be, hence the suggestion of using an existing, oversized, cover as raw material...no pun intended.

Thanks everyone , I like the BBQ cover idea. Its for in the garage storage. just want to keep it covered up, dirt, dust, etc. I like the one pic the girl must be looking for a cover also!
