Since its so hot outside, that bike looks clean enough to work on in the house.

I remember when those Rebels first came out and they have a great reputation for being reliable. They also hold their value pretty well. What I've heard about them is they're not really good for more than 75-77mph with a windshield on the highway, but they are excellent for street use, very nimble, maneuverable, easy to maintain, get great gas mileage, and insurance is cheap. I think the only thing I would add to them is a needle tach. With the parts availability for these bikes, I would think there would be an aftermarket tach somewhere.

Anyway, love the color. That's a sweet looking bike.

I was thrown into a rock & a hard place when i relocated here in Pahrump. The CT70 was perfect for NLV, esp block to city block and a ride in the desert anytime you want but out here in Pahrump, aka: Mayberry, its a rural area with mile long stretches of desert paved road. Not ideal for the a trail bike's 72cc motor running at WOT through the desert.

So decided on a bigger engine build...I then pulled the trigger 3 times from 3 diff vendors on a Piranha 150cc e-start! And no go. They all had it advertised but a week later, refund my cash.

That was it! I decided to get something bigger. Grom was my first consideration, you remember i luved the Grom! Then I decided a Monkey would be even better but then I saw the Rebel cmx250. Lots of chrome, plenty of power (for me!) and for model 2015 even has candy color called Candy Rubidium Red.

2016' is the last year production for the 250cc. So when i saw this 2015 Rebel with low miles & candy red paint, well you know how that goes.
Plus it makes a great 58yr B-day gift!

Here's the only thing missing on the bike that i could find, Tank Decals. Will try and get that on this weekend, will wax the tank first.... Lately I been as busy as a Beaver in a Brothel! Which is just down the road...lol

The PO must have taken them off. Probably a woman driver that didn't want to see those. I don't mind them and know that bikes are inherently dangerous.

You don't want wax on the surface of the decal application site. Clean it with grease and wax remover or alcohol, then apply the decal. Wax it later.

If your floor is wood with a crawlspace, you can get a 1/2 or 3/4in piece of plywood(I'd say 3' x8') and it should do just fine without straining the floor.

Lol I might bring it out in the back yard patio, like with the CT70. 330 pounds scares the hell outta me! The hallway would be a tight fit, plus the floor is ceramic tile, they can crack if you drop tools on it and the gas tank is filled with Gasoline .... Let's not overlook that...

Guess what Kirby? On the right side cover ,there's a tool kit, opens with the key. Inside found the original Dealer temp tag application for the first owner. :1st owner was named Lori K. sold in 9/1/2016.

That's what I suspected and she was probably a petite gal (under 330lbs lol) the way the bike is set up. It came with dealer Rebel windshield and dealer Rebel backrest padr. The bike feels lighter with out it, that backrest is steel.

Here's the headlight and speedO, needed polishing, that windshield was in the way. Speedometer chrome needs care! The bike needs a good wash after that long haul from OH.
Look how far that brake pedal sticks out, I'm gonna shorten it, I like the pedal right in front of the foot peg, just push down! Just like my CT70, i bent that one to my liking too,

I hear ya kirrbby!!!!!!! I dont like scrawny women either. I like 'em with meat on their bones.lol

Anyway, a good used shower curtain makes a good cover for an HK1.lol


Hey guys, my mom gave me this awhile back. Its a brand new 2005 CRF70 I had bought for my boys. They were 3 and 5 yrs. Thats why the # plates say 35. Just thought I'd share......no my hair isnt that long anymore.lol

Ergonomics are oftentimes at odds with aesthetics. Get some saddle time with the new bike, then decide what needs to be changed. It's "measure twice, cut once" applied to rider comfort.

'Ergonomics'! That describes it perfectly. I may put the backrest back on sometime in the future but i agree some saddle time will determine that.
