Broken a tooth on my NOS 33T gear for my ST90

FYI, I'd be willing to bet the gear was intact when it was installed.
Yes it was intact when installed as previously mentioned I believe my mechanic failed to reassemble my transmission correctly thus the broken gear

Any chance anyone is local to
HONDA MINI TRAILS
GARY LEWIS

I feel he has the part but won't sell it to me :(

I'm pretty close, and I call Gary my friend. But I have no pull with him either, when it comes to getting my hands on parts. If he only has ONE, of those gears, he's gonna be very reluctant to sell it.

Thanks Kirrbby. I imagine that is the case and it's a shame as I can't fix my bike without it :(
I've had a tip about a contact in Japan so hopefully they will have one or know someone who does

I have not split the cases on my st’s ,for what it’s worth their is other 33 tooth gears in 90 & 110 models. Going to see if SL 90 counter shaft with CT 90 gears will work. Wish I had a spare ST case . Will have to see what is needed for a kickstarter.

Here's a link to a guy who swapped out a transmission with another bike which I think did actually work
(I haven't watched all the parts)

Oh and just to mention the 33 tooth gear is specific to that bike (I've already checked) The other similar bikes all have the same 33T gear I think.

If it comes down to it, I will sell you my spare ST90 engine before you spend that kind of money on one gear. Its a 1975 motor with three-up shifting if it someday interests you. Rebuilt, ready to go.

Rick
Hi Rick Just wondering what you would be willing to sell your spare engine for? Just took my bike back from the mechanic in boxes :( He did refund what he charged me for the "repair" and most of the cost for the gear he damaged. His "repair" caused damage to other parts which he has not (ie. main shaft). I'd really like to get my bike going again.

Also where are you located? I'm in Vancouver BC, Canada

I am fairly certain that you can swap the entire transmission in from a 1980 honda CT110. You'll have a 4 speed. You should also be able to swap in a full CT90 transmission from the ones that didn't have the dual range transmissions. like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-HONDA...031119?hash=item3d96cd224f:g:4VoAAOSwRg9dwasv

Fairly certain that a CL90 transmission will bolt in as well. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CL90...831107?hash=item3fd6fccbc3:g:CmQAAOSwPqZeFNJd Again, you end up with a 4 speed.

The important thing is you need all parts...so you're best to buy a parts bottom end so you get them all.

Hi Fatcaat, I've seen videos about that too but then I need to buy the CT90/CT110 transmission which won't be cheap. I might have a lead on another engine so just checking all other routes at the moment :)

All so a SL90 . You will also need the kick shaft , diff gear . In the process of splitting cases on a CL . The SL 90 was well abused, needed forks & shift drum gears were fine . Had to cut and break the cylinder in order to split the cases. Oh I forgot points advance was welded shut. Motors were free , so drum , forks, guide pins ,and clips.
