Most overkill on a CT70 Restomod

They look good. Not really an off road tread, but I like Shinko tires. These were a super deal like Cyber Monday on Cycle Gear.
I don't expect to ever wear out a set of tires on a Honda Mini, but if they are cheap and work I'm in.
These are obviously Scooter tires, so they will be fine for running errands and Surf Checks in a Beach Town.
I'll let you know when they hit the road, but it's unlikely to be soon.
Why I like Shinko:
I conquered the Trans America Trail on WR250Rs with my sons 2 years ago. 7000 miles from Satellite Beach Florida to The Oregon Dunes, most off road on nearly identical bikes. Took the Southeast Adventure Trail to the Tail of the Dragon and then linked up with the TAT westbound.
My oldest had the "preferred combination" of Dunlop 606 rear and Pirelli MT front, I felt like we were watching his tires melt.
The Dunlop was unusable by Tennessee.
Me and my youngest had the budget choice Shinkos that we replaced in Idaho, and they still had a little life.
My middle son had the Kendas that came on his bike and they were respectable.

I'm still hoping to win the lottery so I can buy this one myself...but...you have a greater need...and...that bike is a BEAUTY!!...and...this setup would probably make you very happy...and...maybe you have a bunch of xtra dollars, and...overkill...check!

Appreciate you keeping an eye out for me.
I work for an Airline. I'm really under-employed right now, The budget almost doesn't exist.
I'm in the process of cleaning out and getting rid of stuff, and these parts were on the keep list. I'll direct some of the sales money to a couple projects like this one.
Whats the best stock looking CT70 exhaust capable of bigger CC's ?
Someday I'll get around to making a real "overkill" CT-70. I'm hoping the frame and handle bars will be about the only things from a mini trail when I do.
I just finished putting a Cummins 12 valve turbo diesel, with an Allison 6 speed automatic, in my Ford Excursion.
Complete with homemade wiring harness, what could go wrong right?

I like the Super Stealth exhausts from mcmt. But I don't know if you could get one right now...plus they're black...not chrome. Trailbuddy makes a copy of the super Stealth too...but I don't know how loud they are.
Takegawa makes a chrome one...OLD CT has one of them I think. I don't know how loud the Taky one is either.
CHP has a chrome one, or black...reports are that they ARE pretty loud.
The stock pipes are said to be good for 88cc. How big will you be going??

I've never heard of MCMT? Not finding them on a search either.
I'm asking the exhaust question for this build, to make an educated decision on engine size..
How big will I go with a motor?
As big as I can and still keep the stock aesthetic;
stock looking exhaust,
no visible oil cooler (I still have one of the OEM Honda curved headset mounted ones)
Stock looking motor (to the untrained eye)
Anyone have experience with this one from Trail Buddy? it's pricey
Amazon Chinesium, made for 125cc
CHP, also pricey, but I like Stainless Steel

Quick questions here (not trying to jack the thread) but has anyone had issues with getting spark on their bikes when using powdercoat ? I'm having a helluva time with mine, and I'm wondering if anyone else is when they go the powdercoat route ?

The coil, AND the engine need to have good, metal to metal, contact with the frame. The powder can be a problem sometimes.
Also, most of the lighting/electrical gets it's ground thru the frame...including the keyswitch.
You could check for continuity with a tester to see if everything is getting grounded.

I learned that the hard way..one of my z50 hardtails I built had enough primer, paint and clear coat the NOTHING got a ground..powder coat is even worse!!! I scraped the paint to the metal on a spot where the motor bolts in the key switch and the tail light bracket area and then all the lights worked...that’s after I replaced the key switch, and the light coil!! Lol

Funny thing is that I had a C70 done by the same powdercoat company and didn't have any problems with electrical or the coil on that bike ... Just put it all back together and it worked fine. Not sure why the CT70 is turning out to be such a pain
