I've been workin the dog out of my, new to me, Honda snow blower. It's been workin like a champ, BUT, half way through the last outing the auto-throttle seemed to be acting up. Not throttling up as quick as it should. I'm not sure how it works but I'm hoping it was just icing up and will be back after a thaw. Maybe I should find it and hose it down with some WD40 before I use it again.
Sounds like a solid project Kirby. Would you consider a straight up trade for my 1967 Ingersol Brothers, plus gas money for delivery :3:?
I won't lie, it needs some attention.
The clutch on the crank... doesn't. It will swallow and expectorate even the largest newspaper. She's 100% chain drive. Shear pins? Are those translucent hair bobbins? Every shaft is welded with corrosion, the pins are lost in the scrap metal pile somewhere. The two speed trans is really just one usable speed (the other is too fast, good between one driveway and the next). The direction selection lever is requires constant input or it slips out of gear. The right side tire will go flat after 5 weeks, the bushings to rotate the chute are a distant fading memory. The chute wanders like a lost pup.
But, she's got full custom paint (priorities are on track), a muffler that fires right into your crotch (great for keeping things warm) and the nearly brand new side output shaft 6.5HP Tecumseh snow king that fires first pull.
Niagara Falls, ON is in the line of fire for most of the storms that pass north through Michigan / New York State. For whatever reason we didn't get the snow.
-19 C currently = - 2 F. Totally snow accumulation of about 2", yes Two. I pity you guys digging through that crap in that cold.
