Honda ct70 clone score

Looked way better in the pics but not a bad score for $400. Something cheap for the wife to ride around on. It fired up and ran when I tested it put but I'm not sure how, the plug is black and smells like a gas station, the battery is dead and the carb is leaking like a sieve. It's got some serious power in it, only a 110 but felt like I could easily do wheelie in second gear. Here's hoping the electric start works!

I can already tell the headset bearings are loose. Speedo doesn't work but it only has 300 miles on it. I wonder what model is best to buy parts from?

Looks like a fairly clean, largely unmolested, bike. You did more than alright, for that money. I like those bar-end mirrors, first time I've seen that type.

Check out feebay, plug & play clone speedometers out the wazoo...choose your seller. Clone carburetors are a dime a dozen, if you can't find the parts needed to stop the leaks with this one. Steering head bearings just need an adjustment, likely their first. Replace that missing upper shock mount nut...ASAP. I'd take a lacquer-thinner-soaked rag to the front fender. The chrome probably won't be wonderful but still intact and way nicer-looking than that ragged black paint:poop:

I wouldn't get too attached to the e-start...notoriously failure-prone.

Great! I would have given him 400 for it i bet. But don't need it. Glad it got to someone local these parts. As for Burke Lake...i walk to it on the weekend and take my ct70 there all the time.

Love that place, especially for camping. We live up in Alexandria off Quaker Ln so Burke is a great 20 minute get away for the weekend. I built a camping trailer on a harbor freight trailer to haul my camping gear and fishing kayaks, want to mod it to carry a ct70 eventually. We usually end up just going to Burke but try to make it out to Shenandoah to fly fish when I can. Anyway I'm babbling but hey here's a pic!

Man I was bombed on bourbon for that last post... totally forgot about it till I saw it. :D Usually lots of exclamation points is a dead give a way, I'm an obnoxiously happy drunk.

Ordered a new battery and am currently giving it an oil change. Anyone have a link for a service manual for these 110cc (107cc) 4 speed manual lifans? There's a strange fan noise coming from the flywheel when you rev the engine, almost like a row machine, my hope is that it's the electric start creating resistance since the battery is dead. @racerx I'm going to take your advice and transfer everything over to a honda frame if I can find one for the right price... and straight enough.

Are you selling this on CL? There's a frame by me that's relatively cheap if you still wanted to throw all this on a ct70 frame.

Yeah I fixed up some of the major issues but not really in love with the 1down 3up tranny. I saw you used to be able to replace with 4 down or 4 up but couldn't find any in my search. Thought I'd see if I can get on bites on CL but if not I'll likely switch to a different frame. Are you referring to the guy who has two red ct70s for sale?

Yeah I understand that not being in love with the clone bummer tho! A guy has a k1 gold frame and swingarm for sale somewhere in the MD or de CL pages.

The shift drum is interchangable most of the time. I have an all-1 direction drum here, but i'm not sure if its all up or down.
