1971 CT 70 Floats

This one isn't cooperating at all with Adjusting the Floats -----Keeps wanting to Bleed off Gas out the Puke Tube..
Initially I pulled the Carb- Disassembled it -- Soaked it in My favorite Carb Cleaner ( Berryman's Chem-Dip )--6 hours- Cleaned in Hot Soapy water and a cool water rinse. Looks Good- Installed a New Kit from DRATV.
Set the Floats @ 22 MM per instructions I found, and Drip Drip Drip.
Pulled the it off 3 times- Each time I lowered the Float 1-MM-That's 25 MM . The Engines Runs Great and Pulls all up under Load- to about 35 mph and No the Floats aren't leaking.
Any suggestions ???

The new kit included new needle/seat that you installed? The overflow on the bottom of the bowl is also the bowl drain, is the bowl drain screw tight or the seat of it damaged at all?

On rare occasions, the brass overflow tube that points up, inside the carb, will be split, or otherwise damaged, allowing fuel to leak into the tube, and out the drain.

If the problem is instant, it's not the float sinking. A pinhole leak would take time to allow fuel to enter a float. And, you should be able to hear fuel sloshing around inside the float, when shaken by hand. The best way to test a float is to first chill it, then hold submerged in hot water. The tiniest leak will be easy to find, from the air bubbles. This can show you leaks that are far too small to be seen with the naked eye.

Since the fuel inlet is part of the float bowl and the float+inlet needle & seat are part of the carb body, there's no good way to test the inlet needle & seat, directly. You might try filling the float bowl, itself, off the carb. If you still get seepage out the drain tube, the problem is with the bowl assembly, not the float or inlet needle & seat assembly.

Also make sure it's not leaking from a spot higher up the carb, and then running down the outside of the carb, then dripping off of the drain tube.

The 71 CT70 Fuel leak disappeared-- Pulled the bowel and filled it up level and no Drips from the overflow tube
Put it back together and Rode it most of the day Sat-maybe 15 miles or so -- the 4th and I'll be Dammed- No Fuel drops at all.--Go Figure !
