Stuck points advance

I purchased a 74 st90
that was sitting outside for some time. I have it running and have done a lot of work on but the cam for the timing advance weights is frozen, has anyone had this problem and a solution. Thx

Should be possible to disassemble, clean, lube and reinstall...the operative word being "should". Some pix would be helpful.

So if I take the bolt out from the center of the plate the points r mounted on the whole thing will come off?

Many of us are not too familiar with ST90's.
But looking on Partzilla at K2 ST parts fiche...looks like it DOES come off of there.

Better take a few pics before/as you take it off of there...make sure you can put it back the same way.

Yes, it comes off. And it will need cleaning and re-lube once it has been removed. Here's the 50-50 chance you can go wrong. Mark the assembly with a Sharpie marker before taking the major pieces apart so that you can reassemble it the same.

Otherwise, you have a 50-50 chance of doing it wrong which will leave you with the spark occurring 180 degrees out of phase for the combustion cycle.
