1972 K1 CT70

Here is my bike. So far I only have the serial number as I dont know where to find the build date.

Serial number is CT70-2017839
She is yellow and is the 3speed auto. Has just under 1600 miles on it.

If I can figure out where to find the build date I will add it to this post.

Look at the head tube on the frame...behind the speedo bucket. Top right corner of the tag shows the date of manufacture...9/71= September of 1971 etc.

Earliest K1 DOM, that I've seen on a VIN tag, is 09/71. The 202xxxx mark was reached by 10/71, recently verified. That breaks down, mathematically, to ~10,000 units per month...roughly the same as K0 production; take these numbers with a little salt. There were ~280,000 K0s produced from 06/69 to 08/71. 06/69 was purportedly a 1/2 month of production and the earliest months saw fewer units, which would be natural with any new product...it takes time to work out problems and ramp-up production to full speed.
