EXPIRED 1977 CT70 with title/plates

Ive decided to get rid of my CT70. Im posting it here for sale, and also asking for advice on how much its worth. Its a 1977 CT70. It has the Title, and Oregon plates and registration. I did a lot of work to it about 7 years ago, but its been sitting mostly since. I start it every few months and it usually starts second kick. I put a TB88 kit on it. Stock head. Mini monster cam, oil pump, clutch springs, valve springs, rear shocks, cheap ebay pipe, new seat cover, tires, brakes, LED tail light, probably other things I am forgetting. The bad news is, I live right on the ocean and its developed a lot of surface rust in the last few years. I dont think the front shocks are any good. I had all of the lights working, but I think they need some tinkering now. I put a new sealed battery in it, but its dead and i dont have a 6v charger. Last time I rode it, the float valve was sticking. It seems to have resolved itself now, but I cant be 100% sure. I put a lot of money into this thing, but I feel like the rust probably eats up most of the value. I'd guess having the title and registration is where half the value is. Curious if anyone is interested, or what anyone thinks the value might be.

Looks like a cool bike. The two things that jump out at me in the pictures are the lack of air filter and the china exhaust. Which would make me wonder about everything else. Of course top dollar goes to turn key with no issues. As she sits $750-1000 depending on the buyer IMHO. Not sure about your time or inclination but sorting some of the flaws is pretty cheap entertainment and would add value in the sale.

Sounds right to me.

The widespread oxidation really hurts the value. Looks like every surface needs work...total redo, paint + chrome, and that'll take some real bucks...that's half the bike's value. The AWOL engine guard & original muffler aren't anywhere near as serious but still represent another $400-500 in replacement parts.

The fork legs probably just need a rebuild...teardown, cleaning, new oil & seals & gators...no big deal.

On the positive side, the turn signal assembly, speedo, and other unobtainium bits are still there. That's a big deal with this model year (and the rest of the K3-`79s) as they're rare as rocking horse :horse:

The fact that it runs and is titled/plated is a big plus. Your description is believable. Most potential buyers are likely to appreciate that, along with the not-fluffed-for-ebay appearance, IMHO. If you have the original cylinder, muffler & engine guard, including them, with the bike and in the listing details can only help. Not every buyer is a purist, some are looking for a decent base for something different, or just want a beater that runs well. This bike could appeal to either...if the price is right.

Should get a close match paint for the chainguard and redo it and go to town with some navel jelly and shine it up. 1000 or B/O if you do what I suggest.

Thanks guys. I only took the air filter off a couple weeks ago when i was messing with the float valve. Its back on now. I also have the original exhaust and I think the cylinder. I could probably make it look a lot nicer with a few hours work. These pics are fresh out of the garage after sitting for 5 years. I found a local guy who buys old hondas. I have a feeling hes going to really low ball me though.
