I bet not many people know where Manteca even is. I bet several check an online map after reading this. I've driven through it several times. It's in the Central Valley of California just south of Stockton.
I looked at both auctions. The 82' is missing a title and the seller will not ship it. The 80' is a better bike but needs turn signals and speedo glass. The seller claims that it's easy to convert the California off road registration to street legal. It's not that easy. I imagine both sell for less then the sellers are hoping for.

I know where that is after living in N. Cal for decades. Manteca is about as exciting as Lodi.

I sure hope the 80 bike auction goes to completion. The turn signals are used on other Honda models and are easy to source, The blinker stays are another story. I estimate auction end price at $1200 but who knows, maybe higher?

Seller ended the 80' bike auction early only to re-list it again. Seems he added more pics and omitted the local end-it-now option. $100 bid so far no reserve.
I think the last auction reserve was 1500?

$1500 is optimistic for either bike. Top selling price I've seen, for an `80-`82, was just shy of the $2K mark...for a virtually flawless, well-presented, `82 with less than 40 original miles. That was 10 months ago. No way either either of these could be brought back to the same condition for anywhere near that little, even with a $1200 selling price. The `80s models don't get much love but that's mostly about aesthetics, pure & simple. Mechanically, they're the same as the `90s bikes, but with 6v breaker point electrical setups. For someone relatively unconcerned with the resale/investment side of the equation, these models can be a lot of bike for the money.

FYI...that damaged speedo will be a far greater challenge than it might appear to be at first glance, on multiple fronts. Honda went to a translucent, backlit, dial in 1980. The markings are illuminated. That requires some fairly sophisticated graphics and they'd be an expensive nightmare to replicate, if damaged.

BTW, the English translation of "manteca" is "butter"...

The 80' JH2 Bike auction ended last night and sold for $1125.00 w/31 bids.

Maybe ending the auction at midnight wasn't the greatest choice.
Looks like my prediction was off by $75 bucks. That's a pretty good price for this year bike IMO.
