I've had similar issues recently with pic uploads.

Yes Sir, I would love to leave it with the original paint on it, but I'll add a pic for why it really needs a paint job. I'm all about trying to retain originality on anything I have but in this case its best to give her a new fresh look.

Here's a question, is this an original / correct fly wheel cover plate for this bike? Build date=11-70?

Here's another question / picture. Does this look like the original tape for these fork spring adaptors.
Also these little body plugs I found in the right side frame. How rare are these to still find in the bike?

Thanks Mr.MartinM54
The tape is in fact a vinyl type tape that I read was supposed to be on these spring adaptors if that is the correct name I should be using for this particular part.
Also is there any history as to when and or why Honda placed the little plugs on the screw holes on the frame?
I just think this sort of stuff is neat that its lasted this long on the bike.
Thanks!!

Those are there just to plug the holes. the holes are there for the grab handle on the Dax models for a centerstand.

Is this flywheel plate the correct plate for this year bike?
I guess my real question is, does this plate have the screw holes or the type without the screw hole.
Thanks.
I've been reading on here about the Honda silver paint for these cases and or the wheels. A lot of discussion on this subject for sure. I plan to work over this cover and paint it back to as close as possible to the correct color.
Thanks Again.

That flywheel cover IS the correct one for your bike. We refer to it as the "2 piece" flywheel cover. It has the small round points inspection cover, where the early silvertag bikes had a one piece cover... same part that was used on the 69-71 Z50's.

Thank you Mr. Kirrbby.
I was uncertain due to my 71 having the 2" plate without the screws. A parts web site I was on showed the plate without the screw to be the correct plate for this bike. Being confused at this point in time, I didn't want to order the wrong plate incase this plate I have will not cleaned up the way I would like.
Thanks, ChopperG

Honda cloud silver is the correct paint. You will want to put a coat of clear over it or your ankle will make short work of rubbing it off. If there are any nicks or dents in the aluminum, you can use JBweld. It sands off pretty easily too with fine grit. If the inside of that cover is unbusted, you got lucky.

You're confusing me a little with your description.

This is the 2 piece cover. The removable points inspection cover is closer to 4"

This is the early Z50 or silver tag CT70 type one piece cover. Your 71 must have the incorrect style on it. It should have a 2 piece cover on it too.

Thanks for the help. You are correct Sir. That plate is much larger than 2" diameter. It was early this morning when I sent that post. Ha
Ok so for the record, I do have the lower picture style cover plate in your post that is on my 71. This is why I was confused. My other 71 has the correct plate on it and this had me concerned.
I didn't want to start to tell people I had a nice 1970 CT70 and bla, bla, bla and then it have a incorrect plate on the motor. I want to be as close to original as possible when I rebuild something.
Am I a purist. I don't think so other than I like to try to bring the restorations back to original as possible.
Also we all know that CHROME makes thing go much faster anyway. LOL
Thanks, again ChopperG
