DAX-IT!!!

I'm coming to the point where I'm gonna refit my fuel tank; there are a lot of rubbers around the tank and I could imagine the task becoming highly annoying!!! I have repainted the tank in gloss black (due to rust and dents that have occurred in its past) and I really want to avoid scratching the tank/frame after all my hard work - has anyone got some good advice when undertaking the refit ???? Any advice appreciated
